| High-expectation market on lookout for quality real estate developments The Aboitizland project team has announced that it sought the opinion of key personalities in Cebu on what for them is an ideal community. The project aimed to create a product best suited to the needs of its target market. Aboitizland said three common factors were observed: an environment where on feels comfortable walking and biking around; a place which is conveniently positioned where areas of work, stores and other essentials are just nearby; the community itself should be where one feels a sense of affection and belonging. The team said it went back to its worksheets and came up with an intriguing product-a community that integrates work, play, shooping and home in one beautifully walk-friendly environment. A residential area, retail and entertainment area, office park and village center are integrated into one pleasant community in Bacayan, Talamban – with alleyways to make all houses within a walking distance to the village center, and canopied walkways and streets secure enough to inspire residents to go out often and mingle with their neighbors. This concept largely follows the vision of an ideal community shared by the respondents, Aboitizland said. Respondents’ views A doctor in his ‘60s, who at his prime age still feels healthy and vigorous, thinks walking is necessary for good health and is very amenable to the idea of having alleyways that offer “breathing space” between houses. A 61-year-old investor defines walking conditions like flower-lined pavements with fragrant trees like kamuning and ilang-ilang and flowers like calachuchi which encourage him to take more strolls. A single businesswoman who is into furniture export said the idea of walking appeals to her as she often walks to the chapel and at malls. A wife and mother of three kids who manages a string of family-owned businesses wished she could find a community here in Cebu which is similar to her former home in Cape Cod, California as she likes coffee shops and ice cream parlors along walking and biking areas. A 40-year-old businessman with five kids likes the idea of a retail and trade center and suggested a school, mall, wet market and police station within easy distance. A single businesswoman into export is also very open to the same idea so she can go for groceries and have coffee without going too far from home. The wife of a renowned lawyer suggested a library, spa, laundry and rent-a-car – practically everything geared towards providing convenience – to be included in the retail and trade center. A window whose kids are all grown up said, “At least I don’t have to use the car too often and get to save on gas!” |
